Description

I hand-crafted this curved pendant from brown, beige, green, and teal polymer clay folded to form an intricate checkered pattern. The pattern it is impossible to reproduce exactly. It makes the pendant truly one of a kind. The lay of the color and the cheerful color combination of this piece along with the gold dust sparkle between the circles remind me of the works of a renowned Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.

The pendant is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa, in Judaism and Islam, and commonly used in jewelry and wall hangings. Depicting the open right hand, the image is used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history, the hamsa is believed to provide defense against the evil eye. The eye, often placed inside the palm, is supposed to increase the effect.

Original design and subtle color scheme of this hamsa pendant make it a very elegant piece. It will pair beautifully with a casual outfit. This hamsa pendant is perfect to wear or give as a gift.

The pendant is around 2.5″ tall. The leather cord measures approximately 20″ and has a lobster clasp and 2″ extension chain. On the reverse side it’s stamped with my initial – letter “Y”.
