I gave a friend this cute tree ornament for New Year. * She loved it! But apparently, her toddler daughter loved it, too. So much, she played ball with it.
The friend brought me the ball and asked to repair it. I told her I’d just make her a new one. But she wanted to keep this one, so…
Actually, I was surprised at how sturdy the clay layer was. It was obvious how much it went through. First I fitted in a new glass ball and tried to attach the clay, but the seams were visible. And then the friend said she’d like it even more with crossing lines. So now it’s a unique item, unlike any other ornament I’ve made. And I do think the lines and the additional glitter make it look good!
* – In Russia, Jack Frost comes on New Year and brings presents to everyone who deserves them. He does not, however, bring coal to those undeserving nor is this happy event considered a religious holiday. We just enjoy the ambiance.
