Lizard Tail Technique Class

Pendants and/or brooches in lizard tail technique class

Take this fun class to learn how to make jewelry in lizard tail technique. Make pendants or pins with unusual, multi-colored geometric designs .

Lizard tail technique comes from the Mediterranean, where people have been using it to patch house walls in this unusual, unpredictable pattern. Or so I have hear at some point; unfortunately, I could not find the reference anymore.

The technique is easy, fun, and produces unpredictable results. Students will make several unique, colorful color jewelry pieces. They can make an array of flat beads in a similar style. They can use those beads to make pendants or brooches to keep or give as presents. Also, often it is fun to exchange work between students. This way, they each will have several pieces in different colors. But that’s is up to the students, of course.

Students will also learn the basics of working with polymer clay: types of clay, conditioning the clay, curing, and cleaning up.

Class length: 2 hours.

Ages: 12+ (students will use sharp knives.)

Level: easy. If you are looking for something longer, more advanced, or more interesting, consider my polymer clay buttons, pendants, or buttons class.

Tools and materials will be provided.

Please note: I do not have a workshop or a class room. Classes take place in my living room (unless arranged otherwise.)
