During the pomegranate wall decoration class students will make colorful hanging decorations for any room. Perfect for Rosh ha-Shana, but also suitable for other times of the year and other occasions!
During pomegranate wall decoration class students will make hanging decoration in the shape of a pomegranate and decorate it using grommets, gold leaf, appliqué, shimmering powder, textures… Possibilities are endless!
They will learn the basics of working with polymer clay: types of clay, conditioning the clay, making lightweight large round shape (technique that can later be used to make large beads), curing, and cleaning up.
It is a fun and relatively easy class that is suitable for adults as well as for teens. I would say, even for young teens. As long as a child can be trusted with a sharp knife, he or she can participate in the class. If the class is organized for Rosh ha-Shana, students can complement the wall hanging with additional Jewish decorations – for instance, make a matching hamsa wall decoration.
Class length: 2 hours.
Ages: 12+ (students will use sharp knives.)
Tools and materials will be provided.
